Job Description:

PURPOSE OF THE Job

The Tech C prepares files using various software applications for digital output to large format,

fabric and specialty printers and to digital fabrication equipment such as light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation and vinyl

cutters, performs book-binding processes, performs all mail production procedures, equipment

maintenance. In addition, the Tech C provides technical support to students, faculty, and staff in the Library and helps create and maintain web content for PrintFX-FabLab.

Job RESPONSIBILITIES

 Customer Service

  • Provide forepart counter support, including, job intake, POS transactions, pupil calls, logging jobs in and out, etc.
  • Respond to questions past students in self-serve surface area regarding 3D press, scanning, and file prep
  • Inform, guide and answer to educatee and faculty questions regarding software related problems as they employ to our services
  • Assistance in conducting orientations and tours of PrintFX and the FabLab for kinesthesia and their classes, by appointment

Technology Services

  • Follow workflow procedures, including quality control checks of jobs
  • Troubleshoot all software and hardware issues every bit they arise and assist in maintenance of all equipment in PrintFX and FabLab.
  • Learn and apply new software every bit necessary for purposes of file prep, digital output and troubleshooting
  • Provide finish-user engineering back up to Library Faculty and Staff and students visiting the library
  • Remain electric current with changes in software and hardware used past students and faculty in the classrooms and labs

Web Responsibilities

  • Contribute to interactive content for ITDP website
  • Review webpages that have been submitted by spider web publishers for approval in the CMS
  • Aid with creating or resizing images and graphics for webpages
  • Gather and organize avails needed for web content builds (images, video, copy, etc.).

 Special projects as assigned


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of current related industry experience; or Associate'southward degree with a minimum of four years of current related feel required
  • Power to work with a diverse constituency and interact with the public and provide fantabulous and all-encompassing customer service support
  • Feel working in a dual platform surround utilizing various software packages including: Adobe CC Suite, MS Office, 3D modeling software and color management software
  • Experience working with Epson large format printers, large format copier, laser copiers, laser cutters, 3D printers, 3D scanners, vinyl cutters, book-binding systems, flatbed scanners and other peripherals
  • Experience with hardware platforms in both PC and Mac and with diverse printers and print solutions
  • Knowledge of all-time practices of web content

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in an instructional lab environment with lab users and educatee lab monitors
  • Proficiency with HTML; CSS a plus.
